David Carstens studied with the Production program at the USC School of Cinema-Television, graduating in 2006.  His background as a news cameraman served him well with the ability to improvise when working on shoots with minimal tools and unpredictable circumstances, as student films can often be.  These experiences have proven invaluable ever since, making him adaptable to most any production challenge no matter what the form, from narrative to documentary. He also does work through his production company specializing in short-form content, Espionage Films.

David is based in Playa del Rey, CA, and loves to work in new environments so long as he can eventually return to the water.
